STEM Experience – Concept Proposal
As part of the FIRST Global Challenge Madrid 2027, we propose creating a major public-facing STEM Experience at Caja Mágica, designed to extend the impact of the competition beyond the field of play.
The experience will allow thousands of students, families and visitors to discover FIRST Global, see how STEM can create real-world impact and experience technology themselves.
It will occupy approximately 1,500–2,000 m² on Level -2 of Caja Mágica, distributed across the large circulation areas and the Marketing Room.
The experience will be structured around three complementary zones:
DISCOVER:
Understand FIRST Global.
IMPACT:
See what young people can achieve with STEM.
MAKE:
Experience STEM yourself.
FIRST Global would guarantee the core experience, ensuring that the three zones are fully operational from the beginning.
Additional sponsorship would allow us to progressively expand and enrich the experience, adding more activities, technology, content, production and staff.
Discover the movement. Meet the people. Understand the mission.

The gateway into the FIRST Global experience.
Visitors will discover the history, mission and global reach of FIRST Global through robots, stories, images, interactive installations and memorable moments from previous Challenges.
At its heart, the FIRST Global Hall of Fame will showcase iconic robots, teams, personalities, stories and milestones.
The objective is to communicate one central idea:
FIRST Global is much more than a robotics competition. It is a global movement using STEM to build the next generation of problem-solvers.
Possible experiences:
From ideas to solutions.

A space showcasing how young people are using science, technology and engineering to address real-world challenges.
FIRST Global teams, students, universities and young innovators will present projects related to areas such as water, energy, health, sustainability, food, mobility and climate.
Visitors will meet the people behind the ideas, understand the challenges they are addressing and see their solutions in action.
The zone can also include a presentation area for live demonstrations, project pitches, talks and conversations with young innovators and industry leaders.
The message:
STEM skills can become real solutions with real impact.
Possible experiences:
Don't just watch. Build something.

The most hands-on part of the experience.
Visitors become engineers themselves through short challenges where they can design, build, program, test and improve their own solutions.
Multiple activities will operate simultaneously, creating a dynamic environment capable of engaging hundreds of visitors throughout the day.
Possible experiences:
The philosophy reflects the FIRST Global mindset:
FIRST Global would guarantee the minimum core experience required to deliver the three zones.
From that starting point, sponsorship would allow us to progressively expand and enhance the overall STEM Experience.
More sponsorship can translate into more activities, better technology, richer content, higher production value, greater capacity and more staff supporting the visitor experience.
All participating sponsors will have visibility across Discover FIRST, Impact Zone and Make & Build, according to their sponsorship level and contribution.
The sponsorship proposal will define a clear level of visibility for each sponsorship category, ensuring a simple principle:
Equal contribution means equal visibility.
Greater contribution means greater visibility.
As new sponsors join and the STEM Experience grows, sponsors already participating will maintain the visibility corresponding to their level throughout the expanded experience.
The combined contribution of FIRST Global and its partners will therefore create an increasingly richer, more engaging and better supported STEM Experience for visitors.
1,500–2,000 m²
The current concept is designed to occupy approximately 1,500–2,000 m² on Level -2 of Caja Mágica, primarily using the large circulation areas together with the Marketing Room.
€300,000–€400,000
Our current objective is to develop the core experience around a target production budget of €300,000–€400,000, subject to the final scope and production requirements.
At this early stage, the exact activities, materials, technology and level of finishes have not yet been defined.
The final size, content and production approach will be developed with this budget framework in mind, finding the right balance between quality, visitor experience, capacity and cost efficiency.
Additional sponsorship would allow us to expand the experience and increase the number or sophistication of activities without changing its core concept.
